11/20/2016 5:05:00 PM | Women's Basketball
MINNEAPOLIS – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (3-1) dropped its first contest of the season at Minnesota (4-0) on Sunday afternoon at Williams Arena. The Hall was held to a season-low 27.3 percent from the floor in a 90-57 setback.
Freshmen Skyler Snider (Kearney, Neb.) and Deja Winters (Richmond Heights, Ohio) were the lone Pirates in double-figures, tying for the team-high with 10 points apiece. Minnesota-native Claire Lundberg (Andover) finished with eight points in her homecoming outing, also grabbing six rebounds to tie Snider for the team-high.
Turning Points
The Hall scored the game's first five points and trailed by only five after a quarter, before Minnesota used a big second period to pull ahead by 14 at the half. After a Hilaire lay-in cut the lead to 18-16 early in the second, the Golden Gophers reeled off a 22-8 run to close the second frame to swell their lead to 40-24 at the break and led by double-digits the rest of the way.
