
Pirates Announce 2016-17 Radio Broadcast Schedule

South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall men's basketball has announced its 2016-17 radio schedule, and, for the fourth consecutive season, AM970 The Answer will serve as the flagship radio station for Pirates basketball. The outstanding broadcast tandem of Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will return for a 14th season to call all the action.
Fans will have ample ways to listen to the Pirates broadcast, which is not limited to just terrestrial radio. In addition to listening on either AM970 or WMCA 570 AM (for select games), Pirates fans will be able to listen to games online via:
Cohen, well-known in the area as the play-by-play voice of the New York Mets, is one of the most respected and accomplished play-by-play announcers in the nation. Cohen is currently the head announcer on SportsNet New York (SNY) and has broadcast Mets games for over 20 years along with being the radio voice of St. John's from 1995-2002. He has also called national baseball broadcasts for CBS and ESPN Radio and has handled play-by-play duties for CBS Radio and Westwood One for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
Popkin is a veteran broadcaster in the Metro New York area and is a frequent presence on CBS Sports Network serving as the play-by-play Voice of NEC Basketball, the College Insider Tournament and the National Youth Baseball Championships. Popkin also currently calls baseball for the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) and women's basketball on FS2 and BEDN. The University of Miami graduate has 14 years of minor league baseball play-by-play experience, including for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs and currently the Buffalo Bisons.
