SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Behind an all-time offensive performance, the Seton Hall women's basketball team (6-1) won its fourth-straight with an 84-50 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn (2-5) on Saturday afternoon at Walsh Gymnasium. The Pirates shot a blistering 60.7 percent from the floor, the fifth-best mark in a game in program history and best since 1998.
Taylor Brown (Paterson, N.J.) led all scorers with 17 points and was nearly perfect from the floor in an 8-for-9 performance, while JaQuan Jackson (Killeen, Texas) added 16 including four 3-pointers. In total, eight Pirates recorded at least seven points in the win.
Both sides shot the ball well early, with The Hall taking a 30-21 lead after an up-and-down first quarter. The Pirate defense ramped up beginning with the second quarter and carried through the half, as The Hall held the Terriers to 13 points on 5-of-25 shooting in the second and third periods. The third quarter was once again kind for The Hall as it out-scored SFBK 29-4 in the frame.
Head Coach Anthony Bozzella on the result
"Our defensive intensity after the first media timeout in the first quarter, really all the way through the third quarter was absolutely tremendous. I give all the kids credit, our bench was into the game and everyone came in and performed today."
