
Pirates Fall At Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (6-2) couldn't overcome a cold shooting day against a stingy Rutgers (9-2) defense and fell by a score of 70-45 on Friday afternoon at the Rutgers Athletic Center. Donnaizha Fountain (Roxbury, Mass.) finished with a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double in the setback.
Turning Point
Down by eight at the half, the Pirates used a strong start to the third quarter to pull back within a possession and trailed 34-32 with 3:32 to play in the frame. The Scarlet Knights responded emphatically, scoring the final seven points of the quarter to take a nine-point lead to the fourth. RU continued its run into the fourth, scoring the first nine of the final frame to swell its lead to 18. RU would go on to score 29 in the fourth quarter after scoring only 34 over the first 27 minutes of action.
