Balanced Effort Lifts Pirates Over Chippewas, 10-4

Senior Al Molina (Freehold, N.J.) led the Pirates with three RBIs. Rob Dadona (Staten Island, N.Y.), Matt Toke (Three Bridges, N.J.) and Christian Del Castillo (Miami, Fla.) all drove in a pair of runs.
The Pirates utilized seven pitchers on a "staff" day, and they were able to hold the Chippewas to just four runs. Seton Hall starter Tyler Burnham (East Brunswick, N.J.) picked up the win.
Turning Point:
Seton Hall wasted little time in getting runs on the board. In the bottom of the first with one out, Molina walked, and moved to second on a wild pitch. With two outs, Toke drove a hard single to center field, which scored Molina with the game's first run. Sebastiano Santorelli (Tuckahoe, N.Y.) followed with a triple into the right field corner to give The Hall a 2-0 lead.
Central Michigan cut the lead in half in the top of the third inning, but the patient Pirates' offense went right back to work in the bottom half of the inning. In addition to a single by Santorelli, and an error on a sacrifice bunt that allowed Casey Dana (Montgomery, N.Y.) to reach base, Seton Hall hitters drew four walks in the inning, the latter two forced in runs with the bases loaded. A sacrifice fly by Del Castillo also drove in a run. When the dust settled, the Pirates had a 5-1 advantage.
Back-to-back doubles by Mike Alescio (Fair Haven, N.J.) and Toke with two outs in the bottom of the sixth plated the Pirates' sixth run.
The first four Chippewas reached base in the top of the seventh inning against Pirate reliever Ryan McLinskey (Pearl River, N.Y.). Corey Sawyer (Kearny, N.J.) entered with the bases loaded and no outs, but was able to induce a ground ball double-play and record a strikeout to limit Central Michigan to just two runs. In the bottom of the inning, the Pirates pulled away again with the offense erupting for four runs on four hits. The big blow was a one-out double by Molina over the head of the left fielder, which drove in two runs and extended the Pirates' lead to 10-4.
