Nash, Garrett And Dunne Named To Men's Basketball Staff

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Brian Nash, William Garrett and John Dunne have been named assistant coaches for the Seton Hall men's basketball team, it was announced by new Pirate head coach Louis Orr.
All three coaches were members of Orr's staff at Siena during the 2000-01 season as the Saints went 20-11 and finished in a three-way tie for the MAAC regular season championship.
"Brian, William and John are a part of our family and were a big reason for our success at Siena. They're tremendous people and I know they'll do a great job here at Seton Hall," said Orr.
Nash, a native of Floral Park, NY, was an assistant coach for six years at St. Bonaventure before moving onto Siena last season. He began his collegiate coaching career in 1993-94 on the staff at Sacred Heart University. A 1992 graduate of Keene (NH) State College, where he was a four-year letterman, he worked as an assistant coach under his father Raymond at his alma mater, Bishop Ford High School in Brooklyn for one season.
Garrett joined Orr's staff at Siena last season after spending six years at Providence-St. Mel High School in Chicago. At the high school, he served as athletic director, head track coach and compiled a 130-50 record as head boys' basketball coach. A native of Indiana, Garrett played football and basketball at Illinois State University, graduating in 1988.
Dunne, a native of Queens, NY, served on the Siena staff for two years, including the 1999-00 team which reached the NIT. Prior to that he was an assistant coach at Manhattan College for the 1998-99 season. Dunne began his coaching career at Wilkes University in 1992-93 and after two seasons there, joined the staff at Western Michigan University before spending two years at Adelphi University. A 1992 graduate of Ithaca College, he was a three-year starter for the basketball team.
Orr was named Seton Hall's head coach on April 4, 2001, taking over a team
