
Women's Soccer Earns Win Over Rutgers

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. Alli Donofrio (Wayne, N.J.) tallied her second goal of the season in the 58th minute and Amanda Becker (Aston, Pa) earned her fifth shutout making six saves as Seton Hall defeated Rutgers 1-0 Friday evening in Piscataway, N.J.
Donofrio followed a shot off the post to rebound the ball into the net past Scarlet Knights’ goaltender Erin Guthrie. The goal ended the Pirates scoring drought of 368 minutes without a goal, dating back to September 5. Guthrie finished the game with one save.
Rutgers had the edge in shots 9-4 including four in the first 16 minutes of the game. Seton Hall allowed only one shot for the remainder of the first half. Becker finished the first half with four saves.
Rutgers also led the game in corner kicks 5-1, and fouls 12-9, however Pirates’ Ashley Reinecke (Toms River, N.J.) picked up the only yellow card of the game in the 37th minute.
The Pirates will return to action Sunday afternoon as they take on Marist at Owen T. Carroll Field. Kick-off is set for 12:00 pm.
