SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Former Seton Hall men's basketball standout Jeff Robinson (Trenton, N.J.) signed a professional contract with BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld in Austria. The team participates in Austria's "A" league.
Robinson, who graduated from Seton Hall earlier this year, was one of the most consistent and reliable players during his two playing seasons with the Pirates since transferring from the University of Memphis. Last season the 6-foot-6 forward became the 108th player in Seton Hall history to record 500 career points.
"I'm really happy for Jeff," said Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard. "He's put in a significant amount of hard work and effort to prepare himself for this opportunity. He certainly deserves any success that comes his way in the future. We wish him the best of luck overseas."
Robinson is the second Seton Hall alum to play for BSC Raiffeisen Furstenfeld. Former Pirate Stan Gaines '07 last played for the team in 2008.
Currently, Robinson ranks 75th all-time at Seton Hall with 667 career points having averaged 12.2 points per game in 2009-10 and 12.1 points per game last season. Both averages ranked second on the team to only Jeremy Hazell. Robinson notched six double-doubles in his career at Seton Hall, among them was a 23-point, 12-rebound performance vs. Texas Tech in the first round of the NIT in 2010. Robinson erupted for a career-high 25 points vs. Marquette in an overtime loss in 2010.
As a senior, he was the only Pirate to start all 31 games.
Seton Hall will open the 2011-12 campaign with Saint Francis (N.Y.) on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Prudential Center. Season tickets are available by calling 973-275-HALL.
