COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. - Seton Hall University sophomore libero Tessa Fournier (Redondo Beach, Calif.) is participating in the United States National Team open tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
She joins a record 232 student-athletes from 90 college and universities across the nation at the three-day tryout session, to be held Friday-Sunday, Feb. 20-22. The tryouts are for spots on the U.S. Women's National Team, U.S. Collegiate National Teams program and U.S. Junior National Team.

Selected athletes will be notified by early March. USA Volleyball will announce the selections by the end of March once all roster spots are confirmed.
Fournier is coming off one of the greatest individual defensive seasons in program history. The 5-foot-5 libero amassed a program record 700 digs in 2014 and joined teammate Shelbey Manthorpe as the first players in program history to be named AVCA All-America Honorable Mentions. Named BIG EAST Libero of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team, Fournier led the BIG EAST and ranked fifth in the nation. She also tied Seton Hall's single-match record with 45 digs vs. DePaul on Nov. 15.
Fournier was an instrumental leader in guiding Seton Hall to arguably its greatest season ever. The Pirates went 28-8 overall, recording the second-most wins in program history. Seton Hall's 15-3 BIG EAST Conference record was a team-best. The Pirates' prior record for conference wins was only eight, a number The Hall nearly doubled this season. Seton Hall qualified for the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2011, and finished as the tournament runner-up for the third time ever and first time since 1994.
Most notably, Fournier's Pirates made their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2014. The Hall earned an at-large bid and faced eventual national runner-up BYU in Tucson, Ariz. on Dec. 4.
