South Orange, N.J. -Â The Seton Hall men's cross country team has announced its schedule for the 2022 season. The Pirates, who took home a pair of first-place team finishes and three other top-three team efforts last season, boast nine scheduled meets this season.
The Pirates begin the season with the Salisbury Fall Classic on Sep. 3 before taking part in the Fordham Fiasco on Sep. 10. The team will then head south to Daytona Beach, Fla. to take part in the Embry-Riddle Cross Country Classic on Sep. 17. The Pirates placed second in last year's event, as returners Patrick Wagner (Jenkintown, Pa.), Declan Harkness (Stewartsville, N.J.) and Justin Allone (Holtsville, N.Y.) each recorded top-20 finishes. September will finish at the Maryland Eastern Shore Farm Run on Sep. 24.
The Pirates will begin October at the Metropolitan Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Oct. 7, followed by the Highlander Invitational at NJIT on Oct. 8. The men took home a first-place finish at NJIT last season as three Pirates finished inside the top-five.
One week later, the team will return to Van Cortlandt Park to compete in the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Oct. 14. This will be the final tune-up ahead of the 2022 BIG EAST Championships in Attleboro, Mass. on Oct. 29. Wagner and Harkness were the Pirates' top two finishers in last year's event, respectively. The season will then conclude on Nov. 11 with the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.
