NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Madeline Matheny (Wilmington, Del.) was named to the BIG EAST Women's Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
Â
For a second straight weekend, Matheny was the Pirates' primary offensive weapon, leading the team with 3.71 kills and 4.00 points per set in three Seton Hall victories. On Thursday against NJIT, she had nine kills, only two attack errors and a .389 attack percentage. Against George Mason on Friday, she erupted for 13 kills, only three attack errors, a .385 attack percentage and seven digs. On Saturday, Matheny was barely needed as the Pirates cruised to a sweep of Saint Peter's. Still, she collected four kills in her lone set of action.
Â
Creighton's Norah Sis was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while the Bluejays' Kendra Wait earned Defensive Player of the Week. Georgetown's Kamryn Lee-Caracci was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week. Those joining Matheny on the Weekly Honor Roll include Audrey Klemp and Rachel Krasowski of DePaul, Wiktoria Kowalczyk of St. John's and Abby Harrell of Villanova.
Â
Seton Hall will return to action this week when it travels to Hanover, N.H. for three matches at the Dartmouth Invitational starting Friday.
