Derrick Peynado

A four-time track All-American — three indoors, one outdoors — and a two-year captain, Derrick Peynado was named MVP in three BIG EAST Conference Championship meets, winning a total of 12 events. He helped Seton Hall win the 1981–82 BIG EAST indoor titles and won four gold medals at the IC4A Championships. He was named to the All-BIG EAST, All-Metropolitan and All-New Jersey teams during his career and, at the time of his induction, had set nine University records. He was selected to the U.S. Olympic Team in 1980.
