Francis P. Meehan

At 6’6” in height, Francis Meehan was one of the first of college basketball’s big men. He was outstanding in the days of center jump, averaging eight points per game. He also pitched for Seton Hall’s baseball team. After graduation, he went on to play basketball for the original Celtics and competed in the Eastern League for Trenton, Germantown and Pottsville, before closing his career while with the Cleveland Rosenblums. He also played baseball with the New York Giants.
