John Morris

John Morris he led the Pirates to an NCAA Tournament bid in 1982 and assisted the team in capturing the ECAC New York-New Jersey Championship. He earned ECAC Player of the Year, New Jersey Player of the Year, first-team All-America and Academic All-America honors following his junior year. At the time of his induction, he held the University’s career batting average mark at .411 and set 11 other records. The 10th overall pick by the Kansas City Royals in the 1982 MLB Amateur Draft, Morris went on to play seven seasons of Major League Baseball, mostly with the St. Louis Cardinals.
