Prior to his graduation from Seton Hall, Father Francis Finn was a member of the mile relay team. For 27 years, he taught and served as Director of Athletics at both Seton Hall Prep and at the University, supervised the gym and coached the Divinity School’s basketball team. Moving to his pastorship at Our Lady of the Valley Church in Orange, he remained active in his attachment to Seton Hall, being one of the originators of the annual “Friends of Seton Hall” dinner, which was inaugurated in 1958, and which has contributed much to the athletic facilities at SHU over the years.
