Rev. John J. Horgan

Father John Horgan came to Seton Hall immediately after his ordination in 1954 as Assistant Professor of Accounting and, later, as Accounting Department Chairman. He also enjoyed positions here as Assistant to the President-Controller of the University, along with a twelve-year tenure (1960–72) as The Hall’s Athletics Director. Highlights during his tenure as Athletics Director include the 1965 trip to the College World Series by the baseball team, and the basketball team winning the Hurricane Classic. Seton Hall honored him in 1972 when he was awarded the McQuaid Medal for outstanding services to the University.
