Associated with Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University for 30 years as a professor, dean, executive vice president and president, Monsignor Edward Fleming made every effort to enrich varsity sports and afford them a rightful place in the University. While he was chairman of the athletic council, there was a serious crisis in varsity basketball, and he worked to be sure that the basketball program flourished. Thanks to his efforts, Seton Hall assumed its rightful place in the world of college basketball.
