Robert F. Wanzer

Robert Wanzer played basketball for Seton Hall in 1942–43 and again in 1946–47 after returning from Marine Corps duty in World War II. During his two varsity years, he elegantly played point guard, scored a total of 407 points and guided the Pirates to a 40-5 record. Selected 10th overall in the 1948 NBA Draft, he went on to have an illustrious career in the NBA as a five-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA selection. He won the 1951 NBA Championship with Rochester. He went on to have a successful coaching career at St. John Fisher College and was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987.
