For 15 years, Thomas Murphy served as scout for men’s basketball coaches John Russell and Richie Regan. He was one of the greatest goodwill ambassadors that Seton Hall has ever known. He was a charter member of the Essex County Coaches Association, member of the New Jersey Sportswriters Association, member of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, member of the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association and charter member and past president of the New Jersey Basketball Writers Association.
