Swimmers and Divers Swept By Syracuse

Sophomore Asaf Shachaf (Haifa, Israel) led the men's team with a victory in the 50-yard freestyle (22.04) and a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (48.36). Freshman diver Peter Denoble (Staten Island, NY) tallied 242.17 points on the one-meter board and 269.77 points on the three-meter board, earning him second place in both events.
Senior diver Amanda Kline (Green Brook, NJ) led the women's team with two second-place finishes. Kline scored 250.80 poins on the three-meter board , and 250.72 points on the one-meter board, only .83 points behind Syracuse' Julie Van Deusen. Sophomore Jessica Socha (North Brunswick, NJ) contributed with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (54.29) and a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (24.94).
The Pirates will return to action on Sunday, October 29 when they host West Virginia University for a noon meet.
