Vargo, who compiled a 30-1 record in 1999-2000, finished third in the New Jersey state championships at 152 pounds as a junior. He is the state's top-ranked wrestler at 171 pounds this season. Vargo's projected weight class at Seton Hall is 174 pounds.
Ring placed fourth at the New Jersey state championships at 145 pounds while compiling a record of 30-2 as a junior in 2000. Like Vargo, he is a top-ranked wrestler in the state at 160 pounds as a senior at Washington Township. His projected weight class at Seton Hall is 165 pounds.
"We are excited that both Robbie and Eric have decided to attend Seton Hall," said Ryan. "They bring a lot of positives to our program, both athletically and academically. Our goal is to attract the top high school wrestlers in the area, and they fit that description perfectly. Both should have outstanding careers at Seton Hall."
Seton Hall is an NCAA Division I member of the East Coast Wrestling Association (ECWA). In his second season as head coach, Ryan guided the Pirates to a 15-4 last season, the best mark for the program since 1985-86.
