Wrestling Falls Short Against Rider, 19-12

Trailing 12-10, Rider (5-5, 3-0 ECWA) received consecutive victories from sophomores Nick Harrington (149), Cory DeBias (157) and Nick Catone (165) to close out the match.
The lead changed hands three times in the match. Seton Hall (4-10, 3-4 ECWA) trailed 10-6, but junior Dave Ilaria (Belleville, NJ) recorded an 11-5 decision over Rick Bauer at 133, and senior Mike Settembrino (Lyndhurst, NJ) defeated Mike Harris 5-1 at 141 pounds to give the Pirates a 12-10 advantage. It was Settembrino's ninth straight win. He closes out the ECWA schedule with a perfect 6-0 record in conference action.
Rider reclaimed the lead for good at 149 pounds when Harrington edged Seton Hall sophomore Beau Bruno, 5-4.
The teams split the first four matches. Senior Everett Bell (Wallington, NJ) earned a 4-0 decision over Bob Pizzuto in the opening match of the afternoon at 174 pounds. Rider countered with victories at 184 by Shawn Scannell and 197 by Marc DeFrancesco. Seton Hall sophomore Carlos Panfili (Saddle Brook, NJ) recorded a 6-4 decision over Vinny D'Agostino at heavyweight to tie the match at 6-6.
Rider junior Jerold Limongelli a 12-3 major decision over Tom Becker at 125 to give the Broncs a brief 10-6 lead.
Seton Hall returns to action on Saturday, February 10 when it travels to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for a quad-meet with Lock Haven, Millersville and host Bucknell. Competition will begin at 11 a.m.
