Track and Field Hosts Seton Hall Last Chance Meet

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – The Seton Hall track and field team competed in the Seton Hall Last Chance Meet in the Richard and Sheila Regan Fieldhouse on Sunday. The meet served as the team’s final preparation for next weekend’s ECAC/IC4A Championships. The women’s team featured three event winners, while the men’s team took five events.

Freshman Alexandra McCoy (Goldsboro, N.C.) won the 400-meter dash, with a time of 57.63. Junior Cassidy Powers (Blairstown, N.J.) finished first in the mile run (5:52.78) and sophomore Kerry Cahill (Hillsborough, N.J.) took the 3,000-meter run (11:32.39).

Fresh off his 500-meter dash BIG EAST Indoor Championship, sophomore Greg Gomes (Somerset, N.J.) won the 400-meter dash (49.58). Junior Desmond Perkins (Chesapeake, Va.) took the one mile, with a time of 4:29.85. Junior Travis Morancie (Miramar, Fla.) finished first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.48), junior Bryan Burney (Mebane, N.C.) was victorious in the 800-meter run (1:52.20) and senior Justin Wood (Walton, N.Y.) took the 1,000-meter run (2:29.38).

The Seton Hall track and field team concludes its indoor schedule next weekend, when it travels to Boston, Mass., to compete in the ECAC Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, and IC4A Championships, held on the campus of Boston University.
