Paul Gause Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Seton Hall men’s basketball junior Paul Gause (Pittsgrove, N.J.) has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Sunday.

It is the first time Gause has received this honor from the conference.

Gause was instrumental in the Pirates’ lone game this week, a 112-110 overtime victory against James Madison on Saturday.  The 5-foot-11 guard scored all of his 21 points after halftime while grabbing seven rebounds and tying his own Seton Hall single-game record of eight steals.  Gause also had four assists and was a near perfect 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Pittsburgh’s Levance Fields was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while the Panthers’ DeJuan Blair earned Rookie of the Week honors.  Joining Gause on the Weekly Honor Roll were Connecticut’s Stanley Robinson, Providence’s Weyinmi Efejuku, Syracuse’s Arinze Onuaku and West Virginia’s Alex Ruoff.

Gause and the rest of the Pirates will take their 8-2 record against N.C. State on Thursday, December 27 at Prudential Center.  Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
