
Tennis Dominates St. Peter's, 7-0

JERSEY CITY, N.J. The Seton Hall tennis team snapped a five-match skid after topping St. Peter’s, 7-0, on Saturday. The Pirates won all 10 matches played on the day to improve to 2-6 on the season.
Sophomore Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) moved up to No. 2 singles and easily disposed of Kyrsten Chen, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany), senior Danielle Viola (Niagara Falls, N.Y.), freshman Michelle Weerasinghe (Edina, Minn.), sophomore Slavina Kaplonska (Sofia, Bulgaria), and junior Liza Chu (Panama City, Panama) all had straight-set wins in singles play as well.
Sunbul and Viola stepped up to No. 2 doubles play, and the 54th ranked pair bested Meredith Eurley and Laurie Souksavath to highlight SHU’s doubles’ dominance.
The Pirates return to action on March 7 at Fordham.
