HAMDEN, Conn. - Sophomore Michelle Weerasinghe (Edina, Minn.) was the only Seton Hall tennis player in action on the final day of the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sunday.
Weerasinghe bested Quinnipiac's Natalie Duckor (6-3, 6-3) to advance to the final before falling to Lauren Wilmarth (6-0, 6-0) in the championship.
In a late match on Saturday night, senior Alexandra Harvey (Chatham, N.J.) beat Ali Washawvsky of Quinnipiac (8-7) to move into the finals of the "D" consolation. Harvey was scheduled to play teammate Liza Chu (Panama City, Panama), but the match was not played due to time constraints.
The Pirates are back in action next weekend at the East Coast Championships, hosted by Army.
