
Seton Hall Falls to Georgetown, 5-2

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Pirates (7-11) dropped a 5-2 decision to Georgetown on Friday afternoon. Seton Hall is 1-7 in the BIG EAST Conference.
Senior Denise Liebschner (Weinboehla, Germany) won her match for the Pirates. Liebschner struggled in her first set, but came back to win her next two sets against Vicky Sekely (2-6, 7-5, 6-2). Liebschner improves her singles record to 4-3 in the BIG EAST.
In No. 3 singles, junior Belfin Sunbul (Izmir, Turkey) defeated Jacquie Harrison in straight sets 6-3, 6-2. Liebschner and Sunbul earned the Pirates the only points of the match. Sunbul improves her record to 9-7 for the spring season. Junior Slavina Kaplanska (Sofia, Bulgaria) stepped up in No.6 singles. Kaplanska was defeated by Samantha Martin in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
The Pirates were unable to secure a doubles point. In the No.2 spot, Verow/Kilarski put up a fight against Sebia/Landers, but fell short 8-6.
The Pirates will return to the court against Providence on April 17th at home.
