PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall junior Brian Oliver (Glassboro, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. The 6-foot-6 forward helped lead Seton Hall to a victory in its only game last week, a 60-59 win over Stony Brook in the Pirates’ non-conference finale at the Prudential Center on Friday. Oliver, who had been battling flu-like symptoms all day, erupted for a season-high 20 points to lead all scorers, all in the first half. The Georgia Tech transfer matched a career-high with six made three-pointers on only nine attempts. He also grabbed four rebounds. Other weekly honors include: Louisville's Russ Smith being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Villanova’s Ryan Arcidiacono earning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week recognition. Joining Oliver on the Honor Roll are Connecticut’s Ryan Boatright, Providence’s LaDontae Henton, Rutgers’ Dane Miller and USF’s Jawanza Poland. Oliver and the rest of the Pirates will begin the BIG EAST portion of their schedule when they return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at DePaul. Game time is scheduled for 9:00 pm ET and will be carried by SNY.
