SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall senior Fuquan Edwin (Paterson, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday following a record setting performance versus Eastern Washington. Edwin tied the program's single game steals record (8) for the second time in his career to go along with 14 points in the Pirates 92-70 victory Sunday at the Prudential Center. Edwin was also named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll earlier this season on Nov. 18.
In his first appearance since missing three games due to injury, Edwin had six of his steals and scored 10 points in the first half. The 6-foot-6 guard made his sixth steal and went in for the dunk just seconds before intermission to give the Pirates a two point lead at the break that they would not relinquish. The Hall then used a 54-point second half outburst to earn its most lopsided victory of the year.
It was Edwin's sixth double-digit scoring performance of the season. He added four assists, four rebounds and shot 3-for-4 at the free-throw line in his first appearance since Dec. 5.
St. John's guard D'Angelo Harrison was named BIG EAST Player of the Week and Villanova's Josh Hart received Rookie of the Week honors. Alex Barlow (Butler), Doug McDermott (Creighton), Bryce Cotton (Providence) and Isaiah Philmore (Xavier) were also named to the Weekly Honor Roll.
Seton Hall hosts Lafayette on Friday at Walsh Gymnasium. Tip off is slated for 8 p.m. The contest will air on FOX Sports 1 and 970 AM (WNYM).
