Edwin Named to Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Seton Hall junior Fuquan Edwin (Paterson, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.
It's the third time this season Edwin has been honored by the conference. He was named to the Honor Roll on Nov. 26 and earned BIG EAST Player of the Week recognition on Dec. 8.
The 6-foot-6 swingman was instrumental in Seton Hall's thrilling 66-65 victory over Villanova on Feb. 25, which snapped a nine-game losing streak. Edwin recorded 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals, but he saved his finest play for the closing moments of the game. Down four with 28 seconds left, Edwin calmly sank a pair of free-throws to pull the Pirates to within two points. After Seton Hall forced a turnover, Edwin drilled a game-winning three-pointer with under nine seconds remaining.
Other weekly honors include: Georgetown's Otto Porter being named BIG EAST Player of the Week and St. John's JaKarr Sampson earning BIG EAST Rookie of the Week recognition. Joining Edwin on the Honor Roll are Cincinnati's Sean Kilpatrick, Louisville's Russ Smith, Marquette's Davante Gardner and Providence's Bryce Cotton.
Edwin and the rest of the Pirates will return to action on Tuesday, March 5 when they travel to Providence. Game time is scheduled for 9:00 pm.
