
Edwin Selected to NABC All-District Team

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) named Fuquan Edwin (Paterson, N.J.) to the 2013-14 Division I All-District 5 Second Team on Wednesday. The 6-foot-6 All-BIG EAST honoree and the conference's Defensive Player of the Year averaged a team-high 14.7 points per game to lead the Pirates in scoring for the second straight year.
Edwin scored in double-figures 16 times in 26 games, including a team-high eight 20+ point performances. The Paterson, N.J. native elevated his scoring average in BIG EAST contests to 15.8 points connecting on a team-high 96 field goals in 16 appearances, hitting nearly 47 percent of his attempts.
The senior guard also led the BIG EAST in steals (74) for the second time in the last three seasons. Edwin's 2.8 steals per game was the third highest in NCAA Division I through the regular-season. Earlier this season, Edwin broke Seton Hall's all-time steals mark which stood for over 30 years, and he enters Wednesday's BIG EAST Tournament Presented by NEW YORK LIFE matchup against Butler with 292 career steals.
