This past April 30th, Pirate Blue Athletic Fund held its annual Donor Matching Day. Pirate Blue reached its overarching goal of receiving donations from supporters in all 50 states in order to meet the challenge, of one generous anonymous donor who contributed $50,000 for the achievement. In total, Pirate Blue raised over $193,000 from over 450 alumni, family, and friends of the program throughout the day.
Due to the success of Donor Matching Day and the overwhelming support of Pirates fans across the country, Pirate Blue will profile some of those loyal supporters from coast to coast who helped make Donor Matching Day a success.
Pirate Blue continues its "HALL Around the Nation" features with former student-athlete Jenna Best ('08). A former softball player and BIG EAST champion, Best has been a Pirate Blue donor every year since she finished her time at the Hall. She spoke with Pirate Blue recently to speak about her memories at SHU and the great impact Pirate Blue has on over 225 student-athletes.

Best: I am currently living in Berkeley, CA and work in the Cal Athletic Department at the University of California. I am a Customer Service Specialist in the Sales and Service department and work with existing season ticket holders for various sports.
Q: What year did you graduate from Seton Hall?
Best: I graduated in 2008.
Q: Please share one of your most memorable experiences as a Seton Hall student.
Best: One of my favorite experiences as a student-athlete was winning the Big East Championship in 2005. Beating Notre Dame in the championship game and bringing the Big East trophy back to Seton Hall will always be one of my favorite memories and will forever keep that year's team connected.
Q: What are you most proud of as a Seton Hall fan?
Best: Seton Hall students, student-athletes, faculty, staff, and graduates have a many reasons to be proud. The cohesiveness of campus units and departments is outstanding. Academics and athletics are mutually supportive of each other. I am proud of the overall objectives and goals put forth by the University for each student and for providing the resources to help each one succeed.
Q: Why did you choose to donate to Pirate Blue?
Best: Seton Hall will always be near and dear to my heart. Donating to Pirate Blue is one of the best ways for the growing Pirate community to come together. I am grateful for the resources that were made available to me as a student-athlete and feel that it's my turn to give back. I am thankful for the Pirate Blue donors who helped make these resources possible and appreciate their continued efforts to support the vision and mission of Seton Hall Athletics.
Q: What would you say to a friend who was considering joining the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund?
Best: I would encourage them to consider giving back in some capacity. Everything helps!
