The "Reading with the Pirates" Program continued last week as six Seton Hall student-athletes visited Rosa Parks Elementary School in Orange, N.J.
Volleyball senior Simona Sekulova joined men's golf team members David Cha, Lloyd Jefferson Go, Kevin O'Brien, Ryan Snouffer and Cory Wilson in making the visit as the Pirates spent an afternoon reading and speaking with over 250 students as part of the Read Across America Initiative.
All students who participated were provided with a Seton Hall bookmark in an effort to encourage continued interaction with literature.
Now in its third year, "Reading with the Pirates" is a part of the Seton Hall Athletics Helping Athletes Learn to be Leaders (H.A.L.L.) Program which aims to provide student-athletes with personal and career development tools while strengthening their ties to the surrounding community.
An ongoing initiative, "Reading with the Pirates" has seen a total of over 40 Seton Hall student-athletes visit a number of area schools to this point in the 2014-15 academic year.
