South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall men's swimming & diving freshman Joshua Tosoni (Arnold, Md.) had a strong collegiate debut last week against Saint Peter's and Montclair State and was rewarded this week with CollegeSwimming.com BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week honors.
The freshman delivered wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, clocking in the 100 at 57.61 and the 200 in 2:06.56. Both of his times in those events currently rank in the top-50 in the nation, according to the CollegeSwimming.com.Â
Tosoni also competed with fellow freshman Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.) and sophomores Kyle Nash (Katy, Texas) and Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.) to capture the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:34.34. Tosoni completed his portion of the race in 26.10.
Tosoni and the Pirates defeated Saint Peter's and Montclair State last week and are headed to Morgantown, Wva., this weekend to participate in a West Virginia Quad with the Mountaineers and BIG EAST foes Butler and Xavier.
