Pirates Dominate Bucknell Invite

Lewisburg, Pa. – The Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team won 11 of 14 swimming events on Saturday afternoon at the Bucknell Invitational as the team wrapped up its regular season in dominating fashion. Other teams in the meet included American, Bucknell, Lafayette and Shippensburg.
The 200-yard freestyle relay of sophomore Dakota Williams (Noank, Conn.), freshmen Tyler Kauth (Wall, N.J.), John Redoutey (Costa Mesa, Calif.), and junior Noah Yanchulis (Arnold, Md.) began the men's competition with an impressive winning time of 1:25.20.
Sophomore Ivan Michalovic (Glen Mills, Pa.) and junior Matt Zebrowski (Sayreville, N.J.) took the top two spots in the 200 individual medley after touching the wall in respective times of 1:55.64 and 1:57.27. Kauth and Redoutey finished fourth and fifth.
The Pirates were in control of the 500 free with Lior Grubert (Yehud-Monosson, Israel) finishing ahead of the field in 4:33.57, senior Cooper Lindsley (Lancaster, Pa.) in third (4:46.68) and freshman Jonathan Bar-Eli (Givat-Ela, Israel) in fourth (4:49.56).
Sophomore Chris Tucker (Middletown, N.J.) (52.17) and sophomore Kyle Nash (Katy, Texas) (54.27) went one-two in the 100 backstroke. Additionally, the Pirates took the top five spots in the 100 breaststroke, headlined by junior Zohar Suslovich (Holon, Israel), who won the event in 57.97.
Bar-Eli won the 200 butterfly in 1:54.99 and Williams won the 100 free in 47.22. Lindsley (16:36.12) finished the 1650 free 17.24 seconds ahead of the field.
Yanchulis picked up a win in the 400 IM (4:05.05), while Grubert won the 100 fly (50.47) and junior Sean Sali (Bridgewater, N.J.) won the 200 breast (2:09.93). Freshman Timothy Lynch (Watertown, Conn.) finished third in the 1-meter (172.60) and second in the 3-meter dive (202.20).
Up next, the Pirates will spend the next three weeks training before heading to Long Island to compete in the BIG EAST Conference Championships Feb. 22-25.
