Resilient SHU Effort Falls Short at Princeton

Princeton, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team picked up a pair of singles victories in its first dual match of the spring, but ultimately fell short, 5-2, at Princeton on Saturday afternoon inside Jadwin Gym.
Sophomore Anna Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) emerged victorious at No. 2 singles after an exciting come-from-behind victory over Sivan Krems that included set scores of 3-6, 7-6 (7-1), 1-0 (10-8).
At No. 4 singles, freshman Michal Matson (St. Albans, New Zealand) defeated Catalina Vives by scores of 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8). Junior Katie Kim (Honolulu, Hawaii) and sophomore Thandy Kangwa (Fort Myers, Fla.) were narrowly edged 7-6 (7-2) at No. 2 doubles.
Looking ahead, the Pirates will participate in a pair of dual matches next weekend in West Point, N.Y. The Pirates face Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. and Army West Point on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12 p.m.
