AD Newsletter – November 2017
November is the month that ushers in the holiday season, so please let me say that I wish you and all your families the warmest holiday season. And I hope that many of you will be choosing to spend Thanksgiving with the Pirates either in Brooklyn (Men's Basketball), South Orange (Women's Basketball) or even hopefully Milwaukee (Volleyball)!

We are just one week into the regular season, but both our men's and women's basketball teams are enjoying early success.
The men's team last night played Indiana and came out victorious to start the season 3-0. The Pirates are ranked No. 22 in the nation, and they are led by the best senior class in the country. It was a fun evening in front of a great crowd, and we hope that the trend of great crowds continues.
You can still purchase season tickets to the remaining 12 home games at Prudential Center starting at just $168 per seat. And now's the time to act because season ticket holders are the only Pirates fans who will receive access to the December 10 Christmas Party with the team. You can purchase the men's season tickets online now or call the ticket office at (973) 275-4255.

Our women's team is 2-0 and coming off a wonderful road win at ACC-foe Wake Forest, which is not an easy place to play. I think what's been most impressive about what we've seen so far from the Pirates has been the defense, which has held both opponents to just 36 percent shooting.
The women need your support at home, where they play tonight against Princeton and again next weekend in the Seton Hall Thanksgiving Classic. You can still purchase season tickets to the remaining 15 games at Walsh for just $50 online or by calling (973) 275-4255.

The other nine BIG EAST coaches overlooked our volleyball team during the preseason. The Pirates were picked to finish eighth in this very competitive league, and all Coach Yaeger and the Pirates have done is work hard to prove people wrong.
Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the volleyball team is 10-6 in conference, and the team's magic number to clinch a spot in the BIG EAST Championship is two. Any combination of Seton Hall wins and Villanova losses that adds up to two equals a trip to Milwaukee next week.
Coach Yaeger has often said how important the crowds are to her team's success. We've been fortunate to make Walsh a tough place for opponents, and we really want to make sure that's the case this weekend.
The Pirates host third-place Butler Friday night at 7 p.m., and host Xavier on Senior Night Saturday at 7 p.m. Hope that you'll come out to support the team. You can even make Saturday a great doubleheader – men's basketball at 4 p.m., volleyball at 7 p.m.

Last month we hosted our ninth annual Beefsteak Tip-Off Dinner, and once again, Pirate Blue Nation rose to the occasion. Pirate Blue raised a new event record $132,000 in support of our student-athletes. This is a tremendous figure, and it represents how devoted our Pirate Blue members are in helping us give our student-athletes the best experience possible.
Again, I can't thank you enough, and we hope that you will be ready to sign up again for next year's dinner!

Last month, we debuted the new and improved version of our mobile app, which is available on all iOS and Android smartphones. Like with the old version, you can view news, rosters and schedules for each of our programs. You can also watch all of our Pirate Sports Network events for FREE on the platform (just remember to set your ring/silent switch to ring to hear audio).
The new feature is our Ticketmaster integration. If you have an account with us, you can now log into it through the app and manager your basketball tickets.
You can download the app today using these links: iOS | Android

Our men's basketball team plays Texas Tech in the Under Armour Reunion two weeks from today, Nov. 30, at Madison Square Garden at 6:30 p.m., and we'd like to invite you to a pregame reception at Hudson Station Bar & Grill from 4-6 p.m.
The event is free of charge, appetizers will be provided and there will be drink specials. Nov. 30 will be perfect for knocking off work a little early, mingling with your fellow Pirates fans and then getting loud at The Garden in support of our nationally ranked team.
You can register for this FREE event online.
