Pirates Visit 9-11 Memorial Ahead of #NFTC2017

NEW YORK – The Seton Hall men's basketball team, one of four NCAA programs participating in the second annual Never Forget Tribute Classic at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Dec. 9, visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York on Monday, Nov. 27. The players and coaches heard from Rhianna Quinn Roddy, Executive Director of the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, and Bill Spade, a Seton Hall graduate ('81) and FDNY first-responder whose son attends Seton Hall via the Fund, and received a guided tour of the memorial and museum.
The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, a proud partner of the Never Forget Tribute Classic, was established within one week of the attacks on September 11, 2001. The Fund exists to provide education assistance for postsecondary study to financially needy dependents of those people killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks, and during the rescue activities relating to those attacks. To date, the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund has provided $137 million to more than 3,100 recipients. The Fund will continue providing assistance to families through 2030, ensuring a brighter future for even the youngest dependents of those who were lost.
