NEW YORK - Coming off a pair of wins over nationally ranked opponents, the Seton Hall men's basketball team has returned to the Associated Press top 25, coming in at No. 19 on Monday. The Pirates also moved up five spots to No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches top 25.
The No. 19 ranking matches Seton Hall's highest AP ranking since 2001. The Pirates were also No. 19 on Jan. 5, 2015. They had two other No. 19 rankings in their history, Feb. 8, 1993 and March 16, 1992. As the No. 19 team in the country, Seton Hall has a 5-2 record all-time. As a ranked team all-time, Seton Hall is 146-49 (.749).
The Pirates are 7-1 this season with four wins over teams from "Football Five" conferences and are currently in the KenPom top 20. They will take on VCU on Saturday, Dec. 9 at Prudential Center at 3 p.m., as part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic, which benefits the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
