SHU Outlasted at DePaul

CHICAGO – The Seton Hall women's tennis team kept pace at DePaul Saturday afternoon, but ultimately suffered a 4-0 setback in a BIG EAST match at the Lakeshore Sport & Fitness Center.
Freshmen Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) and Michal Matson (St. Albans, New Zealand) put the Pirates (7-8, 1-3 BIG EAST) ahead 1-0 after a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. However, DePaul (14-7, 5-2 BIG EAST) edged The Hall in the top two flights to secure the doubles point.
The host Blue Demons then carried momentum into singles play and won the first three matchups to clinch the victory.
Up next, the Pirates head to Milwaukee for a 1 p.m. match at Marquette on Sunday. The BIG EAST Tournament begins Thursday, April 27 and runs through April 30 in South Carolina.
