
Pirates Conclude Second Half Opening Weekend Sunday

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's swimming & diving team registered an impressive 162-121 victory over Fairfield on Sunday afternoon at Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium inside Richie Regan Rec Center. On Saturday, the Pirates suffered setbacks to Drexel and Towson in Philadelphia.
In Sunday's win over the visiting Stags, the Pirates won a total of 10 events by six different student-athletes.
Junior Courtney McCardle (Hurley, N.Y.) won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races with respective times of 24.69 and 53.90. She was also the anchor on the winning 200 medley relay squad that finished in 1:50.03.
Freshman Marianne Molloy (Toms River, N.J.), freshman Alexa Kolodgie (Baltimore, Md.) and senior Sydney Simpson (Tallahassee, Fla.) were also on the 200 medley relay team and won a separate individual event.
Molloy won the 100 back (59:13), Kolodgie took home the 200 breast (2:24.83), and Simpson won the 100 breast (1:07.25).
Sophomore Sara Ouellette (Granby, Conn.) won the 200 and 500 free with times of 1:56.28 and 5:05.47. Freshman Ashley Diekemper (Severna Park, Md.) won the 3-meter dive after scoring a 189.07.
