Omaha, Neb. - Sophomore Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) scored 19 points, but the No. 19 Seton Hall men's basketball team ran into a hot-shooting Creighton squad that made 51.7 percent of its shots as the Bluejays won, 80-63, Wednesday night at CenturyLink Center Omaha.
Powell was the only Seton Hall (15-4, 4-2 BIG EAST) student-athlete in double-figure scoring. Senior Ismael Sanogo (Newark, N.J.) posted nine points and a season-high 10 rebounds.
Turning Point
Creighton made eight of its first 10 shots in the game and built a 16-point lead. Over the last nine minutes of the first half, the Pirates outscored the Bluejays 20-11 to go into halftime only down seven, 39-32.Â
Seven points was as close as The Hall could get. After Powell drained a three with 14:37 left to make it 53-43, Creighton went on a 14-4 run to pull away.
