
Pirates Suffer Setback at Rutgers

New Brunswick, N.J. – Sophomore Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) earned a victory at No. 1 singles on Saturday night, but the Seton Hall women's tennis team fell to Rutgers on the road, 6-1.
Taal and senior Luize Strike (Riga, Latvia) could not pull out a win at the top doubles flight, and junior Anicka Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and sophomore Michal Matson (St. Albans, New Zealand) suffered a tight 6-4 setback at the No. 2 doubles spot, surrendering the point.
The Pirates picked up the win at the top singles flight, but ultimately could not keep pace with the Scarlet Knights.
Up next, Seton Hall visits Newark, N.J. on Friday, Feb.16 for a 5 p.m. match against NJIT.
