
Pirates Cruise Past St. Peter’s

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men's swimming & diving team registered a decisive 192-91 victory over St. Peter's inside Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium on Friday evening in the final non-conference dual meet of the season.
A total of eight different Pirates registered an individual win and two different relays emerged victorious.
The quartet of freshman Ben Puglessi (Ada, Mich.), junior Josh Tosoni (Arnold, Md.), sophomore Liam Cosgrove (Sea Girt, N.J.) and junior Sam Hendrix (Hillsborough, N.J.) won the first event of the night, the 400 medley relay, with a time of 3:28.62.
On the diving end, junior Tim Lynch (Watertown, Conn.) continued his hot streak, and swept both the 1-meter (256.27) and 3-meter (265.12) on Friday, marking the third consecutive meet he has swept the competition.
Freshman Mark Kantzler (Largo, Fla.) had a monster night as he won the 50 free (22.19) and 100 free (48.66), and swam the opening leg of the winning 200 free relay (1:26.57).
Fellow freshman Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) won the 1000 free after posting a time of 9:55.57, and won the 500 Free after swimming a 4:44.05.
Part of both winning 400 medley and 200 free relays, Hendrix also won the 100 fly with a time of 53.36.
Looking ahead, the Pirates welcome BIG EAST rivals Providence and Georgetown to South Orange on Saturday, Feb. 2 for Senior Day at 2 p.m. in the Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium. The meet will be streamed live on the Pirate Sports Network.
