
Pirates Open Spring Slate With 4-1 Win

New Providence, N.J. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team opened the spring with a decisive 4-1 victory over Delaware on Saturday night at the Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness Center.
Senior captain Anicka Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) set the tone from the jump and paired with freshman Regina Pitts (Los Angeles, Calif.) to clinch the team doubles point with a 6-1 victory at the No. 1 doubles position. Fajnorova then delivered a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Delaware's Viva Laas at the top singles flight.
At the No. 2 singles position, Pitts came through with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win over Caragh Courtney. Junior Michal Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) sealed the win for The Hall after a 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Sarah Whited at the No. 4 singles spot.
Looking ahead, the Pirates will take on Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 3 in West Point, N.Y.
