Bronx, N.Y. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team dropped a tightly-contested doubles point, and could not keep pace with host Fordham on Friday afternoon, and suffered a 5-2 setback at the Cary Leeds Tennis Center in a non-conference dual match.
The doubles tandem of juniors Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) and Michal Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) registered a 7-6(2) victory at the No. 3 doubles position, but Fordham emerged victorious at the top two doubles flights to take the point.
In singles play, freshman Regina Pitts (Los Angeles, Calif.) picked up a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at the No. 2 flight, but the Pirates could not get over the hump before the Rams clinched the match.
