
Pirates Sweep Previously Unbeaten Bucknell

Orlando, Fla. – The Seton Hall women's tennis team began its spring break trip with a stellar 7-0 win in a non-conference match against Bucknell on Monday evening, who entered the day 8-0 on the season, as the Pirates jump-started their three-match slate in the Sunshine State.
In doubles play, senior Anicka Fajnorova (Bratislava, Slovakia) and freshman Regina Pitts (Los Angeles, Calif.) registered a 6-2 win at the No. 1 position. Bucknell (8-1) then evened the point after a win at No. 3. However, senior Thandy Kangwa (Ft. Myers, Fla.) and junior Minja Gligic (Belgrade, Serbia) clinched the point with a thrilling 7-5 win at the No. 2 flight.
Junior Mekeila Erspamer (Long Beach, Calif.) then put the Pirates (7-4) ahead 2-0 in the match with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. At the No. 3 spot, junior Melody Taal (Ede, Netherlands) registered a 6-2, 6-1 win to make it 3-0 Pirates.
From there, Seton Hall continued to dominate, winning all five singles matchups.
Up next, the Pirates will take on BIG EAST Conference foes Creighton on Wednesday, March 13, and Xavier on Friday, March 15 in Orlando.
