Matson and Jansen Win in Doubles in The Hall's Loss at Akron

Stow, Ohio - Seniors Michal Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) and Anniek Jansen (Naarden, Netherlands) of the Seton Hall women's tennis team won their match in the Pirates' battle with Akron, but that was the day's lone victory as the Zips came away with a 7-0 victory Friday afternoon at LaTuchie Tennis Center.

Matson and Jansen soundly defeated Akron's Jemi Aguilar and Anna Uljanov by a 6-2 margin, but Akron still took the doubles point by a 2-1 margin because the Pirates were unable to field enough healthy competitors for No. 3 doubles.

Seton Hall will compete again Saturday when it faces West Virginia at LaTuchie Tennis Center at 9 a.m.
