Cleveland, Ohio - The Seton Hall women's tennis team completed its three-match swing in the state of Ohio Sunday morning with a 7-0 defeat at Cleveland State inside Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.
Freshman Hiba El Khalifi (Casablanca, Morocco) was the lone Pirate to take a set on the day, winning the first set of her match against Sian Payne at No. 4 singles. However, Payne took the second set and then won a tiebreaker to claim victory.
At No. 2 doubles, seniors Michal Matson (Christchurch, New Zealand) and Anniek Jansen (Naarden, Netherlands) nearly pulled off victory, but lost a tiebreaker to Payne and Klara Mrcela.
Seton Hall will be back in action next weekend with a Friday match at Rutgers, followed by a Saturday home tilt with Fordham at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness in New Providence, N.J.
