
Strong Performance on the Boards Place Pirates Second After Day One at Patriot

Fairfax, Va. – The Seton Hall men's swimming team is off to a strong start at the Patriot Invitational hosted by George Mason University as they currently find themselves in second place after day one. The Pirates have accumulated 201 points through 12 events and find themselves only trailing Florida Atlantic University with two days of competition left.
On the boards, the Pirates provided three strong performances with all three Pirates qualifying for the final event in the 3M Dive. Quinn Murtha would come away with the top spot leading all divers with 296.85 points. Just behind Murtha in the two-spot was Joel Satir with a score of 290.10. Round out the top-six finishers on the afternoon was Trevor Post who posted a score of 236.90.
The Pirates had two qualifiers for the A Final in the first event, the 500 Free. Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.) and Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) each claimed a top-eight spot with Oosterwyk sliding in at the six spot with a time of 4:35.36. Langenbusch would touch the wall in a time of 4:37.78.
In the fastest event of the night, Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.) would take a top-eight spot with a time of 20.84 to lead the Pirates. To close out the night in the pool, the Pirates relay team of Bryant LaCroix, Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.), Ben Puglessi (Ada, Mich.) and Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) would combine to finish in a time of 3:21.80 in the 400 Medley Relay. That time would prove to be good enough for a fifth-place finish and solidify the Pirates in the second spot on the team leaderboard.

Prelims (10 a.m.): 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, Time Trials
Finals (6 p.m.): 200 Medley Relay, 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, 800 Free Relay
Diving (1 p.m.): Women's 1m and Men's 3m Prelims and Finals
